Culture of Dubai Supports UAE’s Bid by Paris Cultural Exchange for World Expo 2020 in Dubai

The Dubai Arts & Culture Authority (commonly known as Dubai Culture), one of the dedicated authority of Emirates for arts, culture and heritage, in the support of UAE’s bid to host World Expo 2020 in Dubai, hosted an event for 3 days at the well-known IMA (Institute du Monde Arabe), that is the Arab World Institute in Paris.

Highlighting talks and artworks by UAE and Emirati based cultural figures and artists, illustrating stories of social networks in the Dubai city, the launching “Dubai Next” 2nd edition, held in the support of Dubai Culture Chairman, His Highness Sheikh Majid Bin Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, promoted exchange of cultural and international dialogue, in the support of Dubai Expo 2020 UAE’s bid.

For this international dialogue, Le Mobile Art Pavilion was used as a platform which is a design by Zaha Hadid, this programme provided detailed insight of regional art industry along with the UAE’s prominent cultural figures appeared in this, including UAE Human Rights Association Chairman, His Excellency Abdul Ghaffar Hussain; Federal National Council Chairman, His Excellency Mohammed Al Murr; Ministry of Culture, Youth, and Community Development, Assistant Deputy of Culture and Art, His Excellency Bilal Al Budoor; Dubai Media Incorporated, News Division President, Mr. Ali Obaid Al Hamli; Chief Editor of Al Bayan newspaper, Director-General Dubai Media Incorporated for Publishing, Mr. Dhaen Shahin; His Excellency Ahmed Issa Al Serkal, Founder and President of Al Serkal Avenue; French Association UAE’s Honorary President and Lawyer, Hussain Al Jazeeri; Abdulqader Al Rais artist; Visual Arts Dubai Culture Manager, Mr. Khalil Abdulwahid and Dubai Culture Advisor, Dr. Salah Al Qassim.

The UAE cultural industry is very thriving and has very strong associations with France; “Dubai Next” is one of the good demos of the UAE and France partnership. The “Dubai Culture” has worked a lot to support the bid of UAE and it helped a lot to reiterate global position of Dubai as a creativity and collaboration hub for Dubai Expo 2020.

The United Arab Emirates can bring an exclusive cultural plurality for World Expo 2020 with approx. 200 different nation’s people who call Dubai as their homes and living here. Simultaneously, World Expo 2020 in Dubai will play a significant role to support and lead sustained growth and development of dynamic cultural throughout the region and especially in Dubai.

Dubai Expo is going to held on the eve of 50th anniversary of UAE’s which will be start of countrywide celebrations as well. It’s also a first time in history that World Expo 2020 is going to held in Middle East, South Asia and Africa region, which is going to present significant opportunity as well.

Three other nominee cities are competing Dubai in the bid for the hosting of World’s Expo 2020.
