Dubai Air show

The mega Airshow, had participants and exhibitors from across the world!

The Airshow Dubai, 13th edition was held from 17th to 21st November 2013 at Dubai World Central (DWC), (Jebel Ali, Dubai). It was a historic airshow as it had the largest orders placed within three hours of opening.  Etihad Airways, Emirates Airline, Flydubai and Qatar Airways together placed an order to the tune of US $162.6 billion. By the end of the show, the orders tally stood at the US $ 216 billion.

Dubai Airshow 2013 was different as it was better organized than its predecessors. The new venue featured an all-new site specifically built for the Airshow with enhanced facilities for parking and catering and a larger static park. The mega Airshow, as usual, had participants and exhibitors from across the world displaying advanced technology and luxurious aircraft like never before. Visitors from the world over attended this “not to be missed’ aerospace event of the Middle East.  The Dubai Airshow is open to trade and professional visitors only.

While in 2011, the Air show attracted 960 exhibitors from 50 countries, which increased by 8% in 2009 attracted 56,548 visitors increased by 7%, 2013 Airshow broke all previous records. The massive 645,000 m2 airshow site, including the gigantic single exhibition hall of 42,870 m2 attracted 1,046 exhibitors and reported 60,692 trade visitors.

The 2013 edition was special as it had many new factors like:

Green initiatives: A conference at the venue discussed ideas for greener initiatives in the airline industry.

Careers: Alongside the popular Futures Day where the future scope of the airline industry is discussed, a careers fair was organized to facilitate recruitment to the industry.

Airline Chiefs’ conference: Held in cooperation with AACO – the Arab Air Carriers Organization and just prior to the actual event, this high profile meet of invited Airline Chiefs and industry set tone to global airline industry.

The words of Alison Weller, F&E Aerospace Managing Director (organizers of the show), were proved. Few days before, the MD had shared the view “We have a bright future and we are sharing optimistic outlook with the whole Middle East region. The location for Airshow will prove the progress of Dubai Airshow making a key movement for F&E Aerospace as we are opening in our new objective “Build home in Jebel Ali”, this new venue is offering us great opportunities as an organizer of show and we are going to announce some new ideas very soon.” Dubai Airshow 2013 was a huge success.
