Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) as a member of the Dubai Supreme Council of Energy is an organizer of WETEX.

Set up in January 1992, the Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) was formed by a decree issued by HH Sheikh Maktoum bin Rashid Al Maktoum to merge the independent bodies, Dubai Electric Company and the Dubai Water Department. Ever since their establishment in 1959 by the late Rule of Dubai, HH Sheikh Rashid bin Saeed Al Maktoum, the quasi-governmental bodies have met the original objective of providing the people of Dubai with an adequate and reliable supply of electricity and water.
