DWTC Dubai

What every exhibitor should know about exhibiting at DWTC Dubai

The Dubai World Trade Centre (DWTC) has indeed turned sand gold. It is the most popular venue in Dubai for exhibitions because of its several in-house facilities. Exhibition stand contractors in Dubai host trade fairs, mega consumer shows and conventions at DWTC, which are attended by more than 2.74 million visitors from 160 global markets every year. And they rely on the in-house capabilities at the venue to ensure the smooth running of their stand throughout the show.

Exhibition season and Dubai World Trade Centre is going to be abuzz with thousands of exhibitors and visitors from around the world. Here are some tips every exhibitor should know about exhibiting at DWTC Dubai.

Register in advance

Rather than jostle with the crowd to get a space to exhibit at DWTC, book your stand as early as possible. Don’t wait for the last date. Register online in advance (most exhibitions give you this option). But before that, rope in an exhibition stand contractor in Dubai, discuss the design and layout, and ensure that the stall will be ready on time.

Know your venue

DWTC has office towers, hotels, more than a dozen halls, a wide range of spacious meeting rooms, and other facilities. Each multi-purpose venue is integrated into the site to provide maximum flexibility and convenience. Before booking the venue do a bit of research online. You will find a lot of informative articles about DWTC from the internet.

Support services

You can have your own exhibition stand contractor in Dubai design and build your exhibition stand and handle all your signage and branding needs or the DWTC will design and build your exhibition stand, as well as provide lighting, sound or other exhibit needs.

Essential services

While exhibiting at DWTC, your exhibition stand contractor will be provided with all the utility requirements, data and telecoms needs, cleaning and other technical services in-house. You can also take advantage of their full-service catering solutions, which cater to big and small events, and highly-qualified security staff.

Fully-serviced accommodation

DWTC also provide fully-serviced accommodation. There are apartments as well as hotels onsite, which are directly connected to the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre. It is quite popular with international business travellers because it is less than one minute walk away, and you couldn’t be closer to your exhibition stand. You will be able to save travel time, and set up your stall early or stay late.

Get the media talk about you

For press and media representatives there is a press hall, where members of the press can gather to eat, relax and plan their show days. To get you noticed by the media straightaway, leave leaflets and press releases a day before the event starts. It’s also a good idea to hang out and chat with anyone you see with a camera or video equipment and give your product or service the maximum publicity.

Take the metro

If you are not staying at the apartments or hotels onsite, then you will have to think about how you are going to commute from the venue to your hotel. Getting through the traffic heading towards DWTC is a tough task. It is even tougher to find parking. You can park at the parking area but you will have to pay a fortune. Taking the metro will be a good option. You can take a taxi to the metro station closest to where you stay or you can drive to the nearest station and leave your car there.

You need to chart your route

You should have enough manpower to manage your stand so that you will get some free time to visit other exhibition stands. However, since there will be too many exhibitors at each exhibition, it is next to impossible to visit all the stands you are interested in within a day. Find exhibitor information and stand locations online, and chart your route.

Beat the lunch crowd

The DWTC has many great cafes and restaurants, but all of them will be crowded at lunch time. To avoid the mad rush schedule your lunch break before 12 pm or after 2 pm.

Wear flat, comfortable shoes

This is not the time for new painful shoes or your fancy stilettos. Manning a stand involves a lot of standing and to add to it is your visit to other exhibition stands. All this involve a lot of walking, so look after your feet.

Take plenty of business cards & a pen

To help you sort through the hundreds of business cards you receive at the stand, attach each card in a notebook, and write a short note about questions that were asked or documents that should be sent over once the exhibition is over.
